Daily use Driving Turn on the vehicle, put the vehicle into drive or reverse, and push the gas pedal. It's that easy. You will immediately notice the smooth and extremely quiet operation while being supprised by the torque and acceration. There are no gears to change so you'll be able to accelerate smoothly from any speed. Charging Plug-In vehicles are plugged into household electrical 120V or 240V outlets to recharge. Recharge time is dependant on size of battery pack and the outlet used. Our Panther with 85 miles of range can be charged in as little as 1 hr. 15 minutes. Design and Engineering Our design excellence, along with recent innovations in energy storage devices and electric motor controls to provide customers with high reliability, maximum efficiency, low maintanance, and user friendly electric vehicle conversions. Because of our low wear motor, and Li-Ion Iron Phosphate battery pack, we expect 200,000 and 350,000 mile capability for our powertrains. (Depending on the initial size of the battery pack) If your powertrain lasts longer than your vehicle, we will transfer the powertrains to a new vehicle for a reduced price. While electric motors and long life batteries are the heart of our system, we consider safety features, climate control, and customer interfaces to be critical to the overall success and acceptance of the vehicle. Powertrain Motor Plug-In vehicles use a high torque 3 phase AC induction motor. Our electric motor beats the pants off of gasoline motors in several ways... Reliability Plug-In motors have sealed bearings and are brushless. You'll be happy to learn that electric motors often last 10 times a typical gasoline engine. Torque Our motor has 240 Nm of torque. Unlike internal combustion engines that deliver the torque in a small rpm range from 2000-3500 rpm, our electric motor delivers max torque from 0 to 5500 rpm, and delivers nearly constant power from 5500 rpm to 13500 rpm. This toque curve is so well matched to the needs of the vehicle that you don't need a transmission. Efficency Our motors run between 85 to 95% efficiency. A typical gasoline engine averages 10-20% efficiency. So, while we ar using 90% of the energy to push the vehicle, gasoline vehicles are normally waisting 85% of the energy in gasoline. Transmission Our Panther goes from 0-85 mph allin one ger. No more shifing issues on hills, no hesitation when you decide to pass. Battery We use a new Li-Ion Iron Phosphate battery. Our battery pack is temperature controlled so you can drive all year long. We expect the batteries to last 200,000 miles for the 85 mile Panther, and 350,000 miles for the 200 mile Panther. Brakes While we use the same braking system that was on your original vehicle, we add our regenerative braking system to reduce your braking distance, send energy back into the batteries and significantly reduce the wear on your brake system. Regenerative braking feels much like downshifting with a manual transmission, however, with our technology most of the energy goes back into the battery pack for you to use the next time you accelerate. In this way the powertrain does extra duty by contributing to the braking system. Climate Control Cabin Air Conditioning Have you ever noticed that the A/C system doesn't seem to work as well when you come to a stop or an idle? In our Panther, this is no longer a concern. We drive the A/C system at its most efficient speed no matter what speed the vehicle is traveling, or isn't traveling as the case may be. So while A/C use will reduce your overall range, when you want cold air, you will have cold air. And because we run at the highest possible efficiency, the loss in range will be minimized. Cabin Heating A typical vehicle uses the engine waste heat to heat the cabin. This is great except for one small problem, when the vehicle first starts, the engine isn't warm yet. Thus, you drive down the road shivering for the first 15 minutes while a very selfish engine gets all the warmth. In our vehicles, heat output is nearly instant. We use electric ceramic heaters to warm the air. Which means you get to leave your dirty, selfish, gasoline engine in the cold! Safety Accidents Accidents happen. That's why, in additional to all the safety features already on your vehicle before the conversion we have wired our electrical system several protections in case of an accident. In addition, our conversion actually lowers the center of gravity in the vehicle. This reduces your probability of rollovers. The regenerative breaking reduces the braking distance, reducing the likelyhood that you'll hit something you didn't intend to hit. And finally, a vehicle that responds to the driver when the accelerator pedal is pushed, without hesitation is inherently safer than one that must change gears, or get up to torque before responding. Battery As we stated earlier, our battery has low resistance. This keeps it cool even under heavy usage. Additionally, our state of the art monitoring system keeps hte battery pack in top form with every recharge. On Board Vehicle Information Since you'll no longer be using gasoline, we will provide current and voltage information so you can tell the range you have left before your next recharge. |
